Privacy Policy

To make the issue: your intake answers, photographs, contributions from invited colleagues, names and emails used for invitations, and the delivery address for a print order. We use these only to write, design, deliver and, when ordered, ship the issue.

To run the site: anonymous usage analytics and the records a payment requires.

Payments: Stripe handles payments. We never see or store your card number.

Our analytics are anonymous by design: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, and IP addresses are discarded rather than stored. We count what pages do — how many people read the sample and where they stop — never who you are. Session recordings, where used to improve the site, run only on public marketing pages, never on intake, ordering or contributor pages.

If you were invited to contribute, your words and name are used only inside the one issue you contributed to, with your permission recorded. They are never used in our marketing, never shown to other contributors without consent, and, where the order is a surprise, never shared with the retiree before the farewell.

Writing and design technology processes the material you supply under our editorial rules with human review. Your material is used to make your issue only. It is not used to train models and is not sold or shared for another purpose.

We share data only with services that deliver the product: payment processing, print production and shipping (name and address for print orders only), and email delivery for invitations. It is never sold and never shared for advertising.

After delivery, you receive a complete archive of everything collected. We keep order materials for [90 days — placeholder] after delivery in case of reprints or late contributions, then delete the creative material. Ask earlier and we delete earlier, except for the minimal records tax and consumer law require us to keep.

You and any contributor can ask what we hold, ask for a copy, correct it, or have it deleted by emailing hello@thelongview.blademind.ai. A person answers. New Zealand residents can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner; EU and UK residents can complain to their supervisory authority.
